What is No Space for Waste?
We are a refill or ‘Zero Waste’ shop that provides customers the opportunity to buy everyday food staples and household items at a competitive price whilst reducing the environmental impact of their lives. Customers can bring their own containers to refill with the items they need to cook, clean their homes and for personal care in a self-service environment. This unique shopping experience gives customers complete control over what and how much they buy, whilst reducing waste.
Why we are here?
We, as a family, have been trying to reduce our waste and impact on the environment over the last three years. Gradually making changes to our diet, eating habits, increasing the amount we recycle, then finally looking for products without packaging or at least plastic. This journey has both enriched our lives as well as given us a feeling of achievement and a sense that we are helping to protect the future for our children. We now want to share our growing passion to help educate and inspire the people within our own community to make small changes which will lead to a big difference.
Small changes
There is a quote from a prominent zero waste campaigner which perfectly captures the ethos of No Space for Waste: “We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly”.
Our goal at No Space for Waste is to make a difference, however small. We will try to provide less environmentally impactful alternatives to products which can be bought in supermarkets, rather than focusing solely on organic or plastic free, with a hope to constantly improve.
